DESCRIPTION:
The Natchez Trace, also known as the “Old Natchez Trace”, is a historic forest trail within the United States which extends roughly 440 miles from Natchez, MS to Nashville, TN. Largely following a geologic ridge line, early herd animals such as bison followed the dry ground of The Trace from the salt licks of today’s Middle Tennessee, to the watering grounds of the Mississippi River. After Native Americans began to settle the land, they blazed the trail and improved it further, until it became a relatively well-established path. Later, European explorers depended on the assistance of Native American like the Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Natchez tribes as they explored and traded along this route. Famous Americans that used The Trace include Daniel Boone, Meriwether Lewis, Andrew Jackson, Ulysses S. Grant, and James Audubon. Today, the path is commemorated by the beautiful and scenic Natchez Trace Parkway, which follows the approximate path of The Trace, with parts of the original path and many other historic and scenic stops along the way.
Getting the band back together again, Chris, Jason, and Steve of Moto Photo Adventures reunite to share their recommendations on the best places to stay, tastiest places to eat, and neatest places to stop, as they take you along on their journey up the Natchez Trace Parkway! Find out more about the three amigos at www.motophotoadventures.com.
